Casa Mariana is an ancient three-story palace nestled in the historic center of Cortona, offering an inviting blend of architectural charm, rich history, and modern comfort. Ideally positioned in a central yet quiet location, the home provides a peaceful retreat while still allowing easy access to the beauty, culture, and cuisine that make Tuscany and Umbria so captivating. Thoughtfully renovated over the years, Casa Mariana accommodates up to eight guests across its three levels, each connected by original stone stairways, making it important to note that the home includes many steps throughout.
Upon entering, guests are welcomed into a cozy living room furnished with a sofa and armchairs, creating a warm space for relaxation. A small hallway leads to the home’s striking stone staircase, which climbs upward beneath a stunning Liberty-style skylight that fills the stairwell with natural light. The ground floor also features a fully equipped kitchen and a large dining table perfect for shared Tuscan meals. On the first floor, a spacious double bedroom sits adjacent to a full bathroom with a bathtub and shower. The second floor offers two additional double bedrooms, each with ample wardrobe space. At the top level, guests will find a second bathroom with a shower, washer, and dryer, as well as the final double bedroom, which opens onto a balcony boasting panoramic views of Cortona and the Church of San Francesco. With its historic ambiance, thoughtful updates, and picturesque outlooks, Casa Mariana offers a truly authentic Cortona stay.
